Trace is a small local business, but we recognize that everyone and every business has an impact on our planet, and on future generations, and we want ours to have a positive impact on our surroundings.
Trace is a sustainable business. But what does that mean? Today, it means something different for every business and to every person on the planet. Sustainability is one of our most important values as a business, and it is built into all our business processes.
● Over 85% of our one-of-a-kind product offerings are reclaimed home furnishings and décor.
● Whenever available, we use earth friendly and sustainable materials to renew, reimage and repurpose our products
● Our customers, artisans, and sources are local.
● We automate, deploy e-commerce, and utilize video demonstrations whenever possible.
● We buy sustainable packaging materials, as well as recycle and/or reuse packaging materials.
PRODUCT SUSTAINABILITY RATINGS
One of Trace Decor's primary core values is sustainabilty. To further our mission, we have created Sustainabilty Designations listed below. We assign the indiviual designations to each piece when they apply.
Piece was designated for destruction before reclaimed by Trace.
Materials were designated for destruction before reclaimed by Trace to create renewed and reimagined decor and furnishings.
Piece was created with sustainable materials, (IE: water based finishes, ceramics, remnant fabrics, biodegradable materials, renewable materials, etc)
Piece was renewed and reimagined with reclaimed and/or sustainable materials whenever available.
Piece was renewed to be as close as possible to original condition with reclaimed and/or sustainable materials, whenever available.
Piece was previously owned.
Piece was sourced and renewed/reimagined within 100 miles of Trace Decor.
Piece was handmade or hand crafted and not created by a machine. Materials used in its creation (like paints or fasteners) may have been made by a machine.
Materials used in the creation of the piece are natural, meaning they come from plants, animals or the earth.
